Flipside is New England’s hottest dance band. Who says so? The Boston Globe in a 2005 full-page story on the band. High-energy dance sets are this band’s trademark. Repertoire ranges from classic soul, 70’s dance hits, r&b, jazz, rock, and reggae to Latin, current hip hop, pop, big band swing, and ethnic songs. Available in a 7 piece configuration or up to a 12 piece show band (with additional vocalists, horns and percussion available as required), Flipside features the best rhythm section in Boston. Period. They are masters of all styles of music, but when it comes to laying down the Funk…nobody does it better. Members of this group have performed throughout the world with such high profile artists as Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears, Rick James, Lauren Hill, Roberta Flack, the Wu Tang Clan, Jimmy Cliff, Brian McKnight, Maceo Parker, T-Bone Burnett, and Walter Beasley. Members have also performed on Saturday Night Live, The Today show and Late Night With Conan O’Brian. Recently featured on Fox 25 news, Flipside has performed at events for many high profile clients, including the weddings of Jack Welch (CEO of General Electric) & Suzy Wetlaufer, and Elisabeth (The View/Survivor) & Tim Hasselbeck (NFL Quarterback). They are one of the only groups to perform live on the field at Boston’s Fenway Park (Jane Doe Foundation Fundraiser organized by the Boston Red Sox and their wives). They were also the band of choice for the 20th Anniversary Party for the NACE (an organization comprised of Boston’s Top Hotel executives), the Rhode Island Black Heritage Society Ball, The launch party for Boston Common Magazine with Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler, The American Heart Association’s Heart Ball with President Bill Clinton and Boston Ballet 50th Anniversary Gala. Flipside recently performed at the Inaugural Ball of Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick as well as his 50th birthday party where they played along side famed cellist Yo Yo Ma.
