Pilobolus is a company of very creative choreographers and world-class dancer/athletes who create original works of movement art for advertising, film and TV, special corporate events, and fund-raising galas.They form images, letters, animals, and anything else you can think by manipiulating the human body. Some of their most famous works have been done by rear-lighting their shadows on a large screen….the ultimate in shadow puppets! The activities of Pilobolus are usually quite diverse. The troupe has made TV commercials for Mobil, Toyota, Hyundai, Bloomingdale’s and General Motors, created special live events for IBM, United Technologies, Dupont, Merck, Comcast, Proctor & Gamble, and Palm, plus presented gala performances for Joe Boxer, MAC Cosmetics, and Krizia. Pilobolus has choreographed and performed in a Marilyn Manson video, produced a scripted performance for the annual meeting of Hadassah, created a new piece for Radio City Music Hall’s legendary Rockettes, and choreographed and peformed on ice for an NBC skating spectacular with Brian Boitano. In 2007, Pilobolus gave 6 acclaimed brief performances during the Annual Academy Awards, plus did an appearance on the Oprah Winfrey Show. In 2008, they performed on the Late Show with Conan O’Brien. They’ve been featured on the highly rated TV news program 60 Minutes.
